day uno

smalls: 11am

cups of coffee: 1
hours of sleep: enough
times getting lost on the way to the studio: 0

so here are some truisms about this session:
1. very nice acoustics
2. i'm bad at playing with a click track
3. the guitar portion is very boring
4. larry (awesome producer) is awesome
5. my sneakers ruined at least two tracks
6. i need a band
7. 4.5 hrs of 4 songs is repetitive.

good times.

"business plans" invented while sleeping

1. Jello Tag

2. Reverse-able paper

3. self supplying/rejuvenating watermelon

4. Donkey flakes "tastes like ass"

I'm not terribly sure how any of these things could possibly make any money, or what they are, but at least i'm being productive when i'm unconscious.

found: guest check boggle list

leed- a cauldron or copper kettle (attempted as a variation of lee, the shortened ver. of alee)
whelk- spiraled shell (there was some controversy as to how to spell this: "welk," "welch," and "whelch" were also debated
hew- to strike forcibly with an ax, sword, or other cutting implement

cale- a town in arizona, also an alternate spelling for 'kale,' a variety of cabbage. this spelling is derived from scotch roots, slightly farther back to gaelic spelling it is more closely related to kale as certain alphabets do not differentiate between the two sounds.

coft- only an acronym
gile- try again (alternately 'jile' is an acronym)

So, here's a break in the list because at this point Kiersten joined for the last two rounds and somehow managed to accrue just as many kwestionable words on her own as we had in the previous several rounds

staid- fixed, settled, or permanent
bate- to lessen or diminish, cognate of abate

neats- plural of neat?? nooope
stire- nuh uh
tite- acronym
bair- alternate spelling of bear?? not really... but Baird is a town in TX

happy june

well. it's hot again. spring lasted approximately 9 days in Pittsburgh (as usual) it went from being uncomfortably cold to really amazing 55-70 degree weather... to HOT and HUMID. thank god. no one likes to be comfortable wearing jeans and a t-shirt, that's just unnecessary.

Things that happen in June:
-Poultry Days (thank god)
-No Surf
-Shadow Lounge
-triathalon train-a-thon between the hrs of 2 and 6 am

also, this is not something that happened in June, but very close.
I saw a porcupine in its natural habitat on a "nature walk" on saturday. by nature walk i mean climbing a mountain. the going up part was fine, but for some reason i decided to spike my beer can on the way down, which went horribly wrong and ended up with me careening down the non-path portion of a very steep hill, which later turned into a cliff. bad news, but the porcupine was freaking adorable... which brings me to the most important portion of this post. the word "wambly" i used this in a sentence to say "that porcupine was so wambly" which was denied by multiple people i think. Luckily Molly confirmed that it was, in fact, a word defined as some sort of unstable wobbly type walking. my problem was i spelled it "wombly" thinking of a wombat probably, as I am generally thinking of wombats.
